The Prince's Poison Cup

RC Sproul 是一個很多產的作家，除了解經書及神學書籍外，也寫兒童讀品，The Prince's Poison Cup 就是其中之一。The Prince's Poison Cup 中，人原本在賜人生命的國王的花園中生活，人們很愛國王。但一日聽了一個惡人的大話，犯了罪，離開了國王，自己建立了 City of Man。他們的心變了石頭，從此不再愛國王。國王很傷心，也很憤怒，但他愛他的國民，派王子到 City of Man去，飲城中一個毒水池的水。王子知道自己必死無疑，但他也前往。在 City of Man 遇上那惡人，那惡人看著王子飲下毒水，非常高興能殺死王子。結局，王子復活，人們的心變回肉心，回復對國王完本的敬愛。

我們原本就是石心的人，無論怎樣，也不會愛神，也只有基督的救贖，才叫我們可以去愛神。我十分喜愛這故事，因為它很精要地說出重要的概念，例如那惡人殺掉王子，但其實是在國王的計劃之中。而在其中，最叫我感動的是國王差王子去 City of Man 一段：

The King gave the Prince a golden cup and told Him to go to the City of Man. There, in the central plaza of the city, the Prince would find another fountain.... it was filled with terrible poisons. The poison was made up of the King's anger over the people's disobedience. One drop of the poison would kill a strong man. But the King told the Prince to use the golden cup to drink a whole cupful of the poison in the fountain. He said if the prince do that, His subject would be healed and could come back to the park.

聖父差聖子到來為我們受死，豈不叫我們只能覺得驚嘆及不配？
